With summer approaching and temperatures rising, the Quezon City Jail Male Dormitory (QCJMD), intensified measures to safeguard Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL) from heat-related illnesses. These efforts aim to ensure their well-being and maintain smooth jail operations despite the extreme heat.
The Health Service Unit (HSU), is on high alert. Jail nurses are closely monitoring PDL blood pressure to detect early signs of heat stress. An information drive was also conducted to educate PDL on the risks of extreme heat, emphasizing the importance of hydration, recognizing heat stroke symptoms, and taking preventive measures.
To help PDL stay cool, QCJMD has implemented regulated access to drinking water and fresh air. These efforts highlight QCJMD’s commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of PDL despite the challenges of extreme temperatures.
